About Us

Our Story

Indian Blocks Print is rooted in the vibrant craft heritage of Jaipur, Rajasthan – the “Pink City” known for its rich culture and world-famous hand-block printing traditions. We were inspired by the beauty of centuries-old block-printed designs and the passion of the artisans (especially from the Bagru Chhipa community) who have carried this craft forward through generations. Our journey began with a mission to bring high-quality cotton Mulmul sarees to a wider audience, blending the aesthetic of traditional prints with modern style and offering them at accessible prices.

Artisanal Heritage

For centuries, hand-block printing has been a revered tradition in Rajasthan, and Bagru (near Jaipur) is one of its legendary centers. Many of our artisans come from Bagru’s Chhipa community, whose families have practiced this craft for generations. They meticulously carve wooden printing blocks with detailed motifs (often inspired by nature) and stamp them onto fabric using traditional natural dyes like syahi (black) and begar (red). This artisanal heritage is at the heart of our brand, ensuring each saree is truly unique and rich with authentic cultural charm.

Our Products

Our collection currently features high-grade cotton Mulmul sarees (90×92 count) in a variety of exquisite hand-block-printed designs. Cotton Mulmul is prized for its soft, breathable, and lightweight feel, thanks to its fine weave of premium cotton fibers. This makes our sarees especially comfortable for warm weather, ideal for everyday wear or special occasions. Each saree is hand-stamped with care: wooden blocks and natural inks imprint patterns that feel timeless yet fresh. Despite this artisanal process, we keep our prices accessible by working directly with the artisans and cutting out middlemen.

Quality & Vision

At Indian Blocks Print, quality and customer value go hand in hand: we use only superior, sustainably sourced cotton and eco-friendly dyes in every creation, and the Bagru hand-block printing tradition itself is recognized with a GI (Geographical Indication) tag for its authenticity. Each saree is carefully crafted so its colors and prints stay vibrant wash after wash. Our vision extends beyond sarees – we plan to expand into a full range of apparel and home décor featuring these handcrafted prints. For instance, hand-block prints are increasingly sought in both fashion and interior textiles – from elegant kurta sets and dresses to bedding and cushion covers. By supporting the artisans behind these creations, we help preserve a historic craft – after all, encouraging and supporting these skilled craftsmen is vital to keeping this tradition alive.

We invite you to join us in celebrating this living heritage, one beautiful saree at a time.
